It is the branch of dentistry responsible for treating children.

The pediatric dentist (dentist for children) will therefore be in charge of exploring and treating the patient. It is also responsible for detecting possible anomalies in the position of the jaws or teeth to refer to the orthodontist, and for preventive and restorative treatment if necessary.

It must be taken into account that children change their temporary teeth for permanent ones between the ages of 8 and 16, and the treatment of milk teeth is not the same as that given to permanent teeth. Any alteration in temporary teeth that is not treated can later influence the permanent pieces.
